The agents of Rapid Response Squad (RRS), a unit of the Lagos State Police Command, have captured two presumed burglars for murdering a Uber driver and taking his Hyundai Elantra vehicle with enlistment number EPE 676 EC. The capture pursued an order from the new state police supervisor, Zubairu Muazu to the Commander of RRS, Olatunji Disu, that the offenders ought to be angled out and made to confront the full anger of the law.
The two presumes Humble Peter Robert, 33, and Gideon Achibong, 36, were captured on Monday, February 4, 2019 in Aboki Estate, Lekki, Lagos, while expelling the vehicle parts available to be purchased to a piece metal merchant.
Examinations by the police uncovered that Peter Robert, an ex– convict and a transport conductor, in organization of three others now everywhere had three days before his capture contrived to commandeer a Uber vehicle and sold it off.
On the said day, the four suspects, Emma, David, Dolapo and Peter– Robert at around 11pm waved down the expired, Sunday Obasi in Lekki. They revealed to him they were going to Ikate and he charged them N1,000.
Before getting to their goal, the suspects advised the driver that they needed to urinate. It was now they plunged on the driver. They killed him and drove him out of the vehicle into the street before driving the vehicle to Beach Road, Lekki, where they shrouded it for two days while searching for purchaser.
As indicated by Peter– Robert, “I was sitting before the vehicle with the driver. We seized and hit him with stones a few times. He grumbled that he was wiped out. We pushed him close to the street and left with the vehicle, a wine shading Hyundai Elantra.
At the Beach Road, Lekki, where we left the vehicle, we swapped the number plate of the vehicle with a Volkswagen Passat vehicle (FKJ 708 CA) close by. We left it for two days planning to contact purchasers for the vehicle.”
He proceeded with; “Emma, likewise a UBER driver, is our ring head. He saw that the driver was working disconnected before concluding that we capture the vehicle from him. The next day when one of us visited where we seized the vehicle. He saw the person’s remaining parts was at that point in police body pack.’
‘We reached Archibong to help us in arranging off the vehicle. The purchasers we welcomed showed that they could just purchase the vehicle parts. It was destroying the vehicle that RRS watch vehicle spotted us and captured two of us. Emma, Dolapo and David are on the run.”
